Destinations, Ruminations

New year.

First meal of the New Year, as prepared by my lovely (temporary) Belgian family. They were determined to feed me as much real food as possible before I returned to my life of airport Snickers. Ah, the perils of gluten-free travel.

I love traveling. But there is something so wonderful about coming home and sleeping in your own bed. Making French toast for breakfast and burning half of it. Drinking one – nay, two! – cups of Earl Grey, and tallying the blows to your bank account. It’s great to be back. And, well, maybe my last night of traveling has something to do with it:

First night of the new year in the Madrid Airport. Holler.

I saw some incredible sights, my stomach saw lots of good food, and my pea coat is seeing someone new (not voluntarily, I might add. I blame the Hungarians.). And I’ve got a solid week to bask in the post-travel glow before school starts again. I hope your holiday has been one for the books. A very happy new year and Reyes Magos to you all 😀

Cheers,
MB
